Summer Family Trail: Gertrude’s Garden
Over 100 years ago, it was the task of plantswoman Gertrude Jekyll to fill Hestercombe’s Formal Garden with a dazzling display of plants, climbers and shrubs. Follow in her footsteps as you work your way around this summer trail by filling your trail sheet with the flowers you find. From lavender to irises and clematis to gladioli, you’ll discover plenty of plants to grow your own garden design with. Head back to Hestercombe House after completing the trail and visit the Gallery upstairs, where you can find items that once belonged to the great gardener Gertrude Jekyll herself.

The Bishop's Palace
The Bishop’s Palace & Gardens has been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years and this stunning medieval palace is open for all to enjoy.
